Area Pic Nic Foncey

"Area Pic Nic"

If you want to relax yourself and have an amazing break in theGran Paradiso National Park, you have to stop in the Le Foncey pic nic area. This nice place is 4km far from Degioz, just near the main street in a conifer wood. You can find a wide parking, and it is provided of 30 tables, 17 barbecues, 3 sources, 3 toilets and one of these is equipped for disabled persons.

Cost 2008 Rates: 1,50 € per person except children under 5 years old.

Vegetation: larch and red fir wood; undergrowth: juniper, rhododendron, blueberry and salicone.

How to get there: strada regionale Valsavarenche, after Eaux Rousses village. It is situated in the Gran Paradiso National Park.

View from the area: you can admire gran Paradiso massif and from Degioz you can see Gran Nomenon and La Grivola Mount.

Possible Excursion: You can reach Vittorio Emanuele II and Federico Chabod mountain refuges, near Gran Paradiso; Savoia and Chivasso refuges near NivoletPass.Alta Via n. 2 path, the highest in AostaValley, going along Col Lauzon pass, 3296 mts.
