Pro Loco is an association that has been founded in 1960s, and his memorandum, updated in 1982, establishes that the members of the governing body, have to be in office for three years and have to come from Valsavarenche; they are elected by an assembly composed by the entire Valsavarenche population.

Pro loco is a big help for the Town administration and is a great opportunity for commercial operators to participate and to organize the activities that may developing and valuating Valsavarenche.

The great success of these performances is granted by the volunteers work that has a big range: from the woodcutter for the “Bread Party” (made as our ancients were used to) to the race assistant on the competition days in summer and in winter; preparing the place and the run on “Craft Fair” and in any situation required. Often, visitors are concerned by these works and they will help the arranger, beginning a friendly relationship to these people, and they feel  like a member of the organization staff.

Proloco head office in in the centre of Degioz, near the Giovanni Calipari Art Museum. He was a painter who lived in the little village of Maisonnasse, in Valsavarenche, and he created together with Proloco the Estemporanea Pittorica Valsavarenche. It was a summer show repeated for 15 years from 1980 to 1994, and in any edition 30 painter came in Valsavarenche to paint in one day a typical landscape, then the picture were exposed  for a month in the office. When he died the local took the name of this artist so fond of Valsavarenche. Here you can find “Museo Etnogrsfico” too.
