Valsavarenche is a long North-South valley towered from a lot of over 3000 mt. mountains; two of these, Gran Paradiso (4061 mt.) and La Grivola (3969 mt.), are entirely in Italian territory. The valley is dotted by 16 little villages in the left and right of the Savara torrent. This is the main stream of the valley, rising from Grand Etret , the lowest of the thirteen Valsavarenche glaciers.
Between the northernmost village , Molère at 1192 mt, and the southernmost Le Pont at 1960 mt, there is a distance of more than 16 km.

Valsavarenche can be called the Walker’s Valley. First example were the old mountain people living in Valsavarenche before the 1483 (after this year a church was built in Dégioz), who walked down the valley for around 20 km until Introd only for the Christian Celebration.
From the first church today we can admire the old bell tower in Dégioz.
