……. Quando lasciammo il Rifugio, a metà agosto, eravamo comunque soddisfattissimi del nostro lungo e dilettevole soggiorno. Dopo tutto, anche su un gruppo minore come quello del Gran Paradiso ci si può divertire assai; anzi ci si diverte veramente, senza la preoccupazione di una bufera di alta quota, con la tranquillante certezza di poter rientrare comodamente in giornata, se non addirittura per una colazione egregiamente servita, con le gambe sotto il tavolo ed una bottiglia del mio prediletto Barbaresco. È pertanto ovvio che al Rifugio Vittorio Emanuele ci tornerò ancora parecchie volte, sia pure con un progressivo diminuendo alpinistico ed un corrispondente crescendo gastronomico.... The mountaineering history is a lot of small stories joined together, as every mountain has been conquered individually from any place. It began in 1860 by several excursion made by Martino Baretti; then, in 1871 the first climb to the Ciarforon made by Francesco Vallino and in 1873 the first one to the Hebetet by Barale.
